There's no doubt about it. Kids are attracted to science -- if it promises to be gooey, messy and awe-inspiring.
Classes like "Snot in a Box," "Bubble Science," "Shark Tooth Stew" and "Mysterious Magnets" should fill the bill in this regard when Tim Baker returns his summer science classes to the ImagineU Children's Museum starting June 13.
Baker's classes are always hands-on and show that science can be fun. His classes are a great way to keep your active students engaged in learning projects this summer.
Students can register for a day or two or a whole week of activities. There's a different topic each week. The schedule:
June 13-17 -- Chemistry
July 5-8 -- Electricity and magnetism
July 11-15 -- "Earth treasures"
Aug. 8-12 -- Aeronautics and flight
Aug. 15, 16 -- Repeat of "Earth treasures"
Each class is held from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $45 for one class, with discounts for multiple-day registrations.
For more information or to register, contact Tim Baker, 793-0530, scidip@ocsnet.net.
Enrollment deadline: 10 business days prior to the class, except for August classes, when the deadline is July 18.
